Numeracy skills are something that we use all day every day from the moment we wake up and with technology advancing all the time and the more digital and data driven our environment becomes, being comfortable with numbers and how to use them and interpret them, becomes increasingly important. Interpreting and communication numbers and data will be as commonplace as speaking.
There isn’t really a “best” way. Going to class helps but even then, that’s not necessarily the best way. We’re all different so the way everyone learns best will be different. But one thing everyone that learn math must do is practice exercises, lot of practice exercises. It’s boring especially when you get the answer wrong and don’t know how to fix it but it’s still very important.
I think of a function as a rule or tool or machine that does a specific set of procedures to a given input that results in an output. If I think of a function as a machine, the machine requires certain inputs before it can do something and then spits something out the other end.
